A Detailed 7-Day Great Migration Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha City

At Kilimanjaro International airport or Arusha airport you will be met by our office safari guide who will drive you to your hotel in Arusha for leisure and overnight. Have time to rest at the resort and prepare for a next day of safari

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire Park

Pick up from the lodge in the early morning and start a wonderful ride to Tarangire National carrying lunch boxes.

Tarangire Park is famous for its large herds of elephants but it has a variety of environments from seasonal swamps to grasslands with the Tarangire River snaking its way across the parklands. We may get the experience of seeing Lion stalking his prey, or leopards watching while relaxing in the trees above. After game drives we drive to your resort for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Central Serengeti Park

After breakfast, drive to Central Serengeti Park for game viewing. Lunch in a suitable place inside the park. In the afternoon we will continue for the game drive activity before we reach to the camp. We will spend the whole day inside this park for game drives the next day.

Serengeti is more well known for its vast migration of herds of zebra, antelope and wildebeest. Be prepared to see resident predators such as leopard, cheetah and lion playing their part in the circle of life.

Day 4: Serengeti North with Great Migration

Get up early and have breakfast then we drive to Northern Serengeti around Mara River where Great Migration is happening. Our safari guide will identify the ideal vantage position for the Great Migration.

The Great Migration is the greatest movement of wildebeest, zebra and other animals across the Mara River to the Masai Mara in Kenya. Full of crocodiles, migration crosses the Mara River. The best time to visit is from July to early October every year.

Day 5: Serengeti North with Great Migration & Central Serengeti

Early breakfast then continue with game drive in Northern Serengeti with special eye to the Great Migration. We then drive back to Central Serengeti and stop for our overnight stay.

The Great Migration is the biggest herd movement of wildebeests, Zebra and other animals crossing Mara River to Masai Mara in Kenya. Full of crocodiles, migration crosses the Mara River. The best time to visit is from July to early October every year.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro for a game drive inside Ngorongoro Crater with lunch boxes.

This park is the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world and one of the natural wonders of Africa: with the presence of about 30,000 large mammals resident all year round (such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs and rhinos) and many varieties of birds (such as flamingos, eagles, buzzards. Prepare to see many animals here in few time.

Day 7: Lake Manyara Park & Transfer back to Airport

Breakfast then head for Lake Manyara with packed lunch for game drives. Following the wildlife drive we will drive you to the Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.

The park is renowned for its arboreal lions that lurk in the branches of the trees and for the large colony of baboons that inhabit the forest and will follow you down the road as soon as you reach the park.
